A Letter from Your Board of Directors

It’s no secret that all golf courses have some form of slow play during some point or another. Whether it be during league play, a Friday night out with your friends, or during the weekend. We’ve all been victims of slow play.
A few points to consider each time you come out to golf that can help curtail the effects of slow play, which can make the round more enjoyable for all on the course. Please consider the following:

  1. Be sure to arrive at least 10 – 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tee time. Giving you time to pay, get some beverages, and get to the first tee in a timely manner.
  2. Minimize cell phone use.
  3. Be ready. Have your tee, ball and club ready for your next shot.
  4. Everyone go to their own balls and play ready golf. There is NO need for everyone to go to each person’s ball and wait for them to hit before moving on to the next shot.
  5. You only have 3 minutes to locate your ball. If you cannot locate your ball, drop another where you feel it was and move on.
  6. After you putt out, move off the green to the next tee to record your score.
  7. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT TO REMEMBER, KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOU!

If we all work on keeping the pace of play moving along, we will be doing our part to help eliminate this problem.

Thanks,
The Board of Directors

2025 Monday Night Men’s League Announcement

We’re excited to announce that Jack Hannigan and Branden McKeen will be running Wheatley’s famous Monday Night Men’s League at Talbot Trail again this season. The league will kick off on May 5th and run every Monday until the end of August, providing a great opportunity for golfers to enjoy weekly skins, scramble dinners, and friendly competition.

The cost to participate in the league is $125, which includes the weekly skins and scramble dinners. Scramble events will continue to be held on the last Monday of each month, with the dates set for May 26th, June 30th, July 28th, and August 25th. Participants will be placed into different flights based on their handicap, and golfers must be at least 19 years of age to sign up. Tee blocks will alternate between White and Blue each week, beginning with the Whites. Please note, there will be a double bogey max rule in place, and golfers are expected to submit their scorecards to the clubhouse drop-off bin after their round.

A few important changes to note this season: Unlike last year, the league will only be played on Mondays, with Tuesday scorecards no longer accepted. Additionally, there will be no fivesomes this year. If you do not have a foursome to play with, the Marshall will assist with groupings.

This year we will require you to sign up prior to paying. Deadlines for sign ups will be April 20th. To sign up, please fill out this online form (REGISTER HERE) , or email jackhannigan8@gmail.com or text 519-981-9354 with your full name, phone number and email address.
